I am a professional feature writer with more than 10 years' experience writing for consumer magazines. I write across a diverse range of topics from art and antiquities to culture to travel and adventure to engineering and transport. Stories on sites and situations that traverse time are a particular passion of mine.

Having cut my writerly teeth and refined my eye as an art critic during the 2000s, I then spent the 2010s reading for a PhD and lecturing in universities, learning the power of informed storytelling. In 2019, on the eve of a new decade, I decided to combine these skills and devote myself to writing features with a difference for the 2020s and beyond.

I take uncompromising pride in delivering stories that are researched, original, accessible, and most of all: always a good read, and always on time. Having served as a magazine editor myself, I know the importance of forming relationships with editors and creating words customised to a magazine's individual tone and readership.

As part of my standard service I provide a diverse range of print quality images with a free licence for editorial reproduction. For those features that require that special touch, or where a key image is called for, I will work within your budget to source the perfect images from archives, galleries or museum collections, free of charge.
